240 heater control valve - one last question... 200

Okay... this is my last post about this, I promise.

I have determined that my heater control valve is faulty and is not allowing proper adjustment of temperature. When the lever is set all the way to the left, the A/C air gets semi-cool, when moved even slightly over to the right the air gets extremely hot. I inspected the heater control valve and when the lever is all the way to the left (cool), the lever on the unit itself DOES "click" into place as it should.

So my final question is this...

Knowing that the heater control valve is "clicking" into the maximum "cool" setting, is there still a posibilty that the heater control valve is preventing maximum cooling of the air?

I hope I'm being clear worded enough. :-/

Thanks again!
Drew
