JUST FOR THE RECORD: what ATF does my 240 use? 200 1989

the manual states dexron II or II(plus a letter), ipd's site says the same. some have said dexron III, then there is dexron IIIE, and then there is mercon. I think the answer is dexron III(E?), but I'd really like a good, asured confirmation before I do my atf flush.

my ipd atf flush kit came in, woohoo! on the good advice and tips I've received, I'm gonna go with regular dino atf first instead of synthetic before I switch to synthetic. besides, synthetic atf is $$$!

what is a good dino atf brand? valvaline, castro, etc.?
