Tough decision 900 1995

Hi Andrew,

I change the Amsoil every 8K km (5K mi). It's probably too often, but on the bottle it states that for turbocharged engines the oil should be changed according to the manufacturer's recommended interval. Plus I like actually being able to use the service light. I don't drive the 745T in the winter and this year past I didn't even drive it 8K! Due to me driving our truck during the summer, having an accident with the 745T, and other things. So the oil was in there for over a year (I changed the filter once). I went out in the garage about a week ago and changed the oil and filter finally because I felt bad for the poor Volvo :) You're right, the Amsoil isn't exactly cheap, but my mechanic stocks and uses it (as per my recommendation) so it's not hard for me to get. I did a lot of reasearch before I started using Amsoil. According to its specs, its a very good oil, a little better then Mobil 1 IMO. Although, Mobil 1 is very good and was my 2nd choice. I believe Redline is quite good also. I use Shell Rotella T in the 745NA because I figured synthetic would leak out of its old seals and the Shell is an excellent oil for an excellent price. Anyway, it looks like a '95 964 is gonna replace the 745NA in the not so distant future and the 960 will get Amsoil for sure, changed every 8-9K km.
