Changed rear electrical harness on 1990 240 DL now having electrical problems 200 1990

I recently had my rear electrical harness changed on my 1990 240 DL and now I am having all sorts of odd electrical problems. First my rear deffoger light came on and stayed on whenever I put on my headlights. It did not come on as long as I did not use my headlights. The guy that did the job ended up taking the bulb out of the defogger light switch and said that it should be ok. Now my "bulb out" light comes whenever I put my brakes on or my headlights on and my handbrake light does not come on when I put the handbrake on. This is driving me crazy. I went to AutoZone and they disconnected the + wire on the battery and said that everythinbg should reset itself - well it didn't. The guy that did the replacing of the harness work said to come back and he would check it out - said it sounded like a short somewhere - I just don't want him to make it worse as everything was working fine until he replaced the rear harness. HELP!!!!!
