Updating an 82 242s bumper pads 200 1982

Hi Guys,

I have an 82 242 that could use new front rubber bumper pads. Finding pads in good shape for this model is proving to be difficult and Volvo stopped making new ones last year.

It occurs to me that if the structure and shape of the aluminium bumper base is the same in middle and late 80's models it might be possible to retrofit the 82 bumpers with the newer rubber covering. Does anyone with practical experience with this issue know whether they can be retrofit with the rubber cover/pads from later model 240s? Are there other issues to consider? Thanks.
