ipod connection-use CD changer input? 900

Looking for input on how to best connect my ipod in a '93 965. Have the upgraded sc-816 cd/cassette/radio receiver unit with the cd changer input. Has anyone found a (din)plug that would fit in the back of the unit and could be used as a direct input, rather than the, less than hi-fi, cassette or fm adapter solutions?
Any info and thoughts much appreciated, thanks!
