Alt problems. 200 1985

We'll it is a simple problem as to why I only have one alt. belt.
My A/C mounting bracket broke, When I worked at a junk yard in Florida, I could not find the proper bracket for the A/C.
So I simply removed the belt for the A/C and that was the the 2nd belt for the alt. After years of not having the belt, I came to not care about it. I have not bothered any more with the A/C. I only have one belt for the power steering and one for the alt.
One resine for not caring for the A/C is it robs the engine of valuable horse power. Also consumes alot of gas. Hence don't need it. The alt runs the same with one belt. The one belt needs to be tighter than normal. Also the reman BOSH has a wider grove for the belt, letting the belt seat better in the grove on pulley as the original Volvo alt. had a narrow grove.
Any questions please feel free to ask.
