Alt problems. 200 1985

"So I simply removed the belt for the A/C and that was the the 2nd belt for the alt."

Do you think maybe the PO put the belts on wrong? Because I never saw the A/C and alternator use the same belt.

I have only seen the crank-to-A/C belt on the outer crank pulley groove by itself, with the inner 2 pulley grooves for the 2 alternator/water pump belts.
