More on the 88 765T wiring inspection. 700

For everyone that is having the intermittent Cold Start, No Start problems with the 760 Turbo, I finally finished the engine compartment wiring inspection. With the two earlier posts I mentioned the ground wire splices embedded in the harness and the grounds (multiple) broken through the connector bodies. The ground side of the Coolant Temperature sensor was spliced with four other grounds from the ECU and grounded with a 16 ga. wire to the intake manifold. The manifold had only one 12 ga. wire ground to the alternator housing even though it is the ground point for all of the grounds from the ECU and the sensors. If that wire is broken or corroded then the manifold to block becomes the ground. I finished rewiring today with the following changes to the wiring: All grounds entering or leaving the ECU are grounded to the chassis ground behind the ECU in the passenger footwell. All engine compartment grounds are individually grounded to the engine block and chassis. Chassis ground locations on either side of the engine bay are jumpered with a common ground. New connnector bodies (GM OEM type from http://www.sherco-auto.com) were installed and tested for continuity with new terminal ends and the harness re-wrapped with a PVC wrap.
I anticipate firing it back up next week and driving it with no problems until the Chevy engine is ready to go in.

Regards,
