Crankcase breather ???s And my car smokes on startup.. 140-160

So yeah, my filter that I had on my crankcase breather was clogged and coming off, so I decided to go and pick up some hose to run from the airbox to the breather. Is it a problem that I don't use a flametrap there? Or do I really need one?

And my car does shoot out some fumes from there, I think I get blowby now... My car smokes on startup now too, grey smoke? Not sure if it's just cause the car needs an application of the throttle to start or what, but yeah...

Runs great though, for the most part. I did the seafoam treatment and the water torture last weekend, or was that two weekends ago, and that blew out sme carbon and is/was allowing me to run higher ignition advance... Did I wear out my rings a bit there?
