Anyone install a Skandix wagon tail light? 700 1988

I got a replacement tail light for my 740 wagon - it's from Skandix. I used the same bulbs from my old (CIBIE) tail light, didn't change anything on the other tail light, and installed it. All the lights work, but when I turn on the lights or step on the brake I get the bulb failure warning light. Anyone out there successfully install one of these? Were any wiring modifications needed? Wishing I had held out for an OEM Volvo part...
