Finally - got the 544 back together. 444-544

Matches the green of the coolant! Took it for a test drive after letting it warm up. Pretty much the first time I geve it much throttle at all it started spewing white smoke out the tail pipe. I pulled over and the coolant overflow tube was spewing. Yep - three wet plugs.

Sigh - obviously something wasn't right there. I did put an extremely thin layer of silicon sealer on it (they recommended Permatex Ultra Gray3294 sealer - which is what I used). Waited about 15 minutes, put the head on and torqued to 50 lb ft, then 70. Maybe the sealer was too thick - and it prevented the head from pinching down on the gasket properly.

Well, I don't know now if I should pull the head and try again - perhaps with some wire around the cylinders. Or just get a regular gasket.
