Idle dip problem--help needed 700 1989

I've recently developed an "idle dip" on the 1989 745. The idle will momentarily (<1s) dip ~100rpm. This happens at least twice while waiting for lights etc.

I've ran through the FAQ briefly on the cleaning of the IAC et al. I do have the IAC off and it looks to be relatively clean (IE varnished but not clogged with oil/sludge). Corresponding plumbing is also fairly clean.

I've had a look at the throttle body but it looks also to be clean but why would this impact my idle? Since plate is closed @ idle and air flow is through IAC.

This is not characteristic of a vacuum leak either. Can someone point me in the right direction with this?
