Engine missing, now more than ever ... 200 1981

Well, after fiddling around with this most of the day, I don't think the transfer pump is working very well. I couldn't find anything wrong with it, but it just isn't putting out much gas, even though it's less than a year old. I think I may have damaged it by mounting it too low on the sender unit, so the intake was mashed against the filter sock. Even after correcting that, it still doesn't put out much gas, so I've ordered the upgrade kit from IPD to install next weekend. I should have a pressure guage then to verify the output, too. The main pump seems to work well, but once it develops negative pressure in the line, it's output drops and noise goes up. For some reason, it doesn't seem to be able to overcome the low output from the transfer pump.

I also did the electrical tests for the CIS described by Bentley. They aren't all right on, but I'm not sure if the turbo specs in Bentley apply to my non-turbo car. For instance, even when hot, the temperature sensor was registering about 1,100 ohms (should probably have been well below that). The Haynes manual doesn't give the same information, just says it should be the same at the CIS ECU connector as at the sensor. Also with the IAC jumper test to open the valve to max, the car reved up to 3,000 rpm, not sure why it should be so high (Bentley says 1,600 to 2,400).

And I'm not sure the throttle switch was working properly before, but it seems to be now. At any rate, the idle seems okay, but it still dies if I try to go anywhere. I know I have wire rot issues I need to deal with soon, but I don't think that's the problem now. Maybe that's wishful thinking. I'll know more next weekend after I get the prepump working and I can rule out fuel supply issues.

In the meantime, thanks for the help!
