1982 B21F MPG = B21F LH-Jetronic 1.0? 200 1982

My 1982 owner's manual lists the B21F MPG. Is this always the same as the LH-Jetronic 1.0 version (as opposed to the K-Jetronic versions) for 1982?

As far as I know, the "MPG" is associated with the Ignition system, usually referred to as the "Volvo/Chrysler" system. The ICU is a box just ahead of the washer reservoir on the right side. The ICU has a vacuum line connection at the bottom, front.

And I believe the MPG is always used with LH FI, the 1.0 in your case. But as I write this, I seem to recall that Mario (a frequent poster) has an '82 MPG w/Kjet??? Maybe he will ring in on this.

The early versions of the V/C ignition used Chrysler distributors, which had a white cap held on with screws. Later ones used Bosch distributors. The Chryslers can be replaced by the Bosch unit by adapting a rectangular Bosch harness plug to replace the round Chrysler plug. Your Ignition may not have the Knock Sensor, which was added in '83 I think.

The V/C ignition is reliable, and was used up thru '88. But the early ones can, with age, sometimes fail to deliver full voltage to the coil primary side. This is due to a round-about path from Ign. Switch to coil, which can be easily bypassed for a more direct route.
