More glovebox questions 200

You are correct. There is no metal catch, at least, not on the late 240s.

I had this problem on both my '90 and '91.

I removed the glove box, You'll need to remove the glove box bulb or it will stay lit while you do the repair.

Scraped off the 'fuzzy' between the catch hole and the front of the glove box,

Cut a small rectangular piece of plastic about 1/16" thick - I used a piece of broken door side pocket that happened to be in the pocket and thus handy;

Glued the plastic rectangle right next to the catch opening with epoxy (JB Weld).

Replaced glove box.

You cannot see the repair unless you put your head down near the seat, and they both work just fine now.
