fixing my passenger side drive boot 200 1986

hello brickers--
so my volvo was making a weird noise with a slight pull/bump when i would turn the wheel to the right at a 30 degree angle, driving at least 30mph. i checked out the underside and noticed that the plastic tie piece was broken that holds the drive boot to the rod (i think it's the rod). there's a bit of grease that came out, but the boot seems in fine condition, no tears or cracks. other than replacing some of the grease and securing the boot back, is there anything else i need to be aware of? i read a bit about the pressure inside the boot--can i mess this up by doing it myself? it sure seems easy enough. thanks for your help!!
