A Pertronix Ignitor for a '65 1800 ? 1800 1965

Hi there,

I've read this forum for a while, but that's my first post... As supposed with my nickname, I'm French (nobody's perfect ;-) !) and I own a '65 1800S for few weeks...

I want to put a Pertronix Ignitor in my distributor (I did so on a 911, and was pleased with the result), but can't be sure it'll fit... As a matter of fact, bosch dist. # 0231-153-003 is quoted in the Pertronix list, but mine is # 0231-153-002...
I saw a website which said the Ignitor #2844 is correct for all the 62 --> 69 (#1867 for later cars), but only 67 -69 cars is mentioned on the PErtronix website, so do not know who's right ...

Did anybody try this solution on such a 1800 ? as I'll order it from USA, I want to be sure ...

Thanks a lot !


PS: I don't want another ignition system, as the ignitor is cheap, relaible and most of all, "stealhthy'...
