Recirc vent flap: expected functionality: humidity issue fixed 200 1989

Well a few weeks back I posted about intermittent humidity blowing and fogging up my windshield.

It turns out it was not a leaky heater core, no issues there thank goodness.

I checked the recirc flap behind the center dash. After removing the passenger side cover, I put my hand behind the core and noticed the position of the vent flap (car running, non-recirc). The flap was almost at 6 oclock (pointing down i.e. virtical). I slightly gave it a push and it went up to a 45 degree angle pointing at 4:30 (45 degress towards the firewall). When I push on recirc, it now goes to 6 o'clock. When I remove recirc it points to 4:30. I assume it was slightly jamming.

No more apparent humidity issues.

Q: Does this vent flap only travel a total of around 45 degrees? Can I assume that it functions as expected now? Also, it's motion was relatively slow, takes 1-2 seconds to open or close. I put my finger in there though and I can say that it crunches it pretty tight!

Let me know what you think - thanks!
