trying to solve brake 'warping' 700

I've read lots of posts on this topic and researched it fairly well. I understand the proper torquing of lug nuts, importance of bushing replacement, free sliding pins on calipers et al.

Previous owner replaced rotors (Brembo) about 5K miles and now I'm getting pulsation. BUT, I have the invoice and it doesn't appear the pads were replaced.

Since I think the "warping" might be the deposition of friction material onto rotor surface, I am considering replacing pads with semi-metallic and doing a proper break-in period. The hope is that I can restore the surface finish of the rotor and eliminate high spots.

Questions:

What is a preferred semi-metallic pad?

Thanks in advance.
