Starter motor removal Q: sorry but it's on a BMW 200 1989

My dad's 528e bimmer, 1985, 5-spd.
inline 6-cyl, I think the motor is E28...

The starter motor needs to be re-done... click without turn, voltage good to both wires at unit.

Q: Anyone have any expereince that can comment on removal ordeal of this?
Looking at a diagram (online) I think it's justtwo bolts, one at the gear end, one at the rear at a bracket. Is it possible it comes off from the top and I don't even need to get underneath?

Thanks,
