undiagnosable turbo squeeling 700 1985

Absolutely...a hole in the intercooler is a path for pressurized intake air to escape. Depending on the damage to the intercooler, the opening may only be present during high boost conditions (i.e. when the pressure of the air is sufficient to open the hole in the intercooler). The air being forced out of the intercooler may make a loud screeching noise (air with a lot of energy flowing over/around an obstruction that can vibrate = noise), plus you will hear the noise from the blade-induced pressure pulses (the frequency of the noise will follow the rotational frequency of the turbo times the number of compressor blades).
