O2 Sensor bad or not? 700

Hi Art,
I realized that I'm in the wrong forum, but too late to stop now; besides I believe whatever ails my 240 is pertinent to a 740 in this case.
I just got down to it tonight and was going to fit my working 740 sensor onto my 240 but I couldn't get it off the pipe. Anyway, because the 240's Check Engine Light (CEL) is on all the time that there must be something wrong with the sensor. Yes?

Where is a good source for aftermarket universal O2 sensors that will work in the 240? From what I've read in the FAQ and the other references therein it SEEMS that any three wire O2 sensor for a non-turbo 4 cylinder 8 valve engine will work. Is this true?

So if I can find one for $40 I'll replace it and see if that cures the problem.
Don
