Turbo plus?? 700

I went with a Saab APC setup on my 87 745T. It was a lot simplier and easier to deal with. Cost me $150 for everything and about a total of 4 hours labor.
I spent 1 1/2 hour digging the unit out of a Saab 900 in the junk yard. Another hour setting up the wiring and another 1 hour or so installing the unit. Best part it piggy backs your factory system. So if the APC dumps your car just reverts back to the factory waste gate setting. Basicly does the same thing as the Turbo Plus but does it better. One there is NO limit on how long it will keep the boost up if you want. I have mine set at 14 psi and as the RPMS pass 3500 it drops to about 10 to 11 psi. Second the Volvo Turbo Plus only backs off the timing if it senses detonation. The APC will back off boost by 2 psi until the detonation stops. So between the ignition system in your car backing off the timing and the APC backing off the boost during detonation you have two safety systems protecting your motor.
The APC is adjustible by way of a small screw for boost and another screw will adjust the rate of increase on the boost. The third screw you don't mess with. There are only 5 parts to the system. The control box, wiring harness, pressure switch(transducer), solinoid to control the boost and knock sensor. One power wire, one wire for RPM counter, one ground, two for the solinoid and two for the transducer, one wire to the knock sensor.
I also installed a switch to the power lead to turn the system on and off. System on 14 psi available to my right foot. System off only 7.5 psi available to the right foot. This was installed for two reasons for gas mileage and use of lower octane 89 fuel. If your interested let me know and I'll dig up the old website on a web archive site.
