84 244GL alt belts 200

hi.

I just swapped out the brushes on the original bosch alt and it worked really well. getting ~14.2V on the battery at idle and minimum load.

However, the alt belts are badly worn and need replacing. The thing I can't figure out is that while I can rotate the alt on the swing arm to loosen them I can't fully remove them because of the belt that runs from the engine to the PB block. From there there is another belt which runs up to the AC compressor which I can also loosen and rotate out of the way.

So I guess my question is: how do I remove this short belt at the bottom in order to get at the alt belts. There seems to be no way to loosen off this short belt. I read the 700/900 FAQ on this but it didn't seem relevant to my situation.

Thanks,

Chris
