Got a pulsating feeling when driving - err make that 'throbbing' 200 1981

Seriously, when I am driving about 40 to 60 kilometers/hour at a steady speed on a very smooth bitumen/asphalt surface, I feel the car pulsate or very slightly lurch. I thought it might be Fuel Pump pulses or a dragging brake or slight buffeting by wind. If anyone has ever been driving during an earthquake, that is what it feels like. Car runs well, otherwise. Any ideas or anybody else with similar experience.
