94 940 front hub adjustment 900

Hi all,
I just did the front brakes on my 94 940 (201K mi) and the bearing has some slop in it. I have read the FAQ's but do not understand if the whole assembly needs to be replaced or their is some adjustment I can do to get a few more weeks out of it. I would rather wait until the Michigan weather warms a little bit. Any insights are greatly appreciated. There is just starting a slight hum from the bearing but I want to deal with it before it fails and maybe does some other damage.
thanks,
Palmer
