Blower Fan Inop 200

My '92 245 has about 190K rounds on it and runs great! Why wouldn't it?! My problem-- hopped in the car this morning and fired her up. It was about 20 degrees out, not real cold, but the blower fan was on "3" and I didn't want cold air blowing on me so I turned it off. The fan was operating at the time I turned it off. After driving a few miles and the engine warmed up, I turned the fan on, but nothing. No sound or anything. My fuse is good. Any guesses? Is this common? This vehicle does have A/C in case that matters. Many thanks in advance! (Please don't tell me its another one of those wires that run through the tailgate hinge, haha!)
