differential oil drainining? 900

Hoping for some direction. I've got a '93 940 turbo with a couple of issues. How can I drain the oil out of my diff if there is no traditional drain without taking the backing plate off completely. I know that I could use a syringe but I don't think that would get all the other stuff like metal particles out of the diff. Does one of the lower bolts have a draining function?
Thanks in advance for any help.
