'90 240DL Misc. Unplugged wires/hoses 200 1990

I'm just wondering if maybe someone could ID some of these for me...

There is a rubber hose, about .75" in diameter coming out of the top of the intake manifold. It's slanted at about a 15 degree angle toward to passanger side. At the end of it, there is a plastic piece and then a little metal L-shaped piece. At the end of this metal piece, it is an open hole. If you hold your finger up to it you can feel it sucking on your finger. Anyone know if this is supposed to connect to anything? There is a small diameter hose coming out of the firewall that isn't connected to anything and is the perfect length to connect to this piece. I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about this, as is the hose coming out of the manifold doesn't connect to anything it seems absolutely worthless.
Also, are there supposed to be any disconnected wires/connectors anywhere in the car? I've found a couple under the dash, one in the trunk, and a few in the engine compartment. The wires are just disconnected, sitting there, but I can't find anywhere where they could possibly go. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!
