Help - '88 240 Auto Tranny Slipping Problem 200

Here is the situation : I drive for about 20 minutes at about 40 to 50 mph then al of a sudden the transmission starts slipping. I pull over and turn car off and let it sit for about 10X minutes. It is okay. Go another 5 to 10 minutes and it happens again. Let it rest again and its okay again. Make it home and here I am on the brickboard reaching out for help to you. What is wrong ? Any Ideas ? Maybe tranny filter is dirty/clogged ? Sure hope I don't need a new tranny. Tranny shifts up & down smooth & fine. ATF Fluid level is fine and it is good based on its red color. Just changed ATF and flushed it about a month ago. This same problem happened about 2X weeks ago but hasn't happened again until today. Please Help. Thanks All.
P.S. - Think I have the AW71 tranny(not 100% sure as maybe it is an AW70)
