Question #2 about Plastic Reinforcement 200

I posted a message a few days ago asking if there was a way to reinforce the plastic panels on either side of the rear seats in my '88 240 wagon to mount speakers securely without risk of the panels cracking under the stress.

I was told that I can reinforce the panels with some boating epoxy like POR-15.

Will the epoxy provide enough reinforcement? Or do I need to use a fiberglass mesh as well? I'd really rather avoid messing around with fiberglass mesh if at all possible...

Thanks in advance!
Drew
