Installed new harness -- now engine won't start... 200

hi All

In an ongoing attempt to solve a rough idle problem, reached a point where the next step was to replace the engine harness. Two questions follow.

+ Pulled manifold: old harness in standard fully-decayed (exposed wires) condition

+ Obtained used harness from Brickboard member (thanks Julio!)
- Julio's: harness from '84 245DL B23F engine
- Mine (Kevin's): putting harness into '83 4-door auto trans B23F 240 (aka 244 GL, I believe, non-turbo)

--> Question #1 -- both are same harness, right? Part #3515397?

+ Put Julio's harness in. Julio was nice enough to tag the connections and test for electrical continuity, all wires carry current OK.

+ Tried to start engine (was running with old Kevin harness, prior to tinkering). No joy -- no spark from coil. Got power and strobe signal to the coil...

--> Question #2 -- any thoughts about what's going on?

Thanks all

- KE
