A Sunroof Story and . . . 700

1986 Volvo 740T Wagon. Whenever I am closing my sunroof, just as the cranking mechanism gets to the end of the process where the next half-a-crank-turn should shut it tightly, there is some sort of restriction that holds the crank just enough so that I have to gently push up on the sunroof near the rear of it and then, on the next half-a-crank-turn it will continue on to the home position. It opens and closes fine in the "ventilation" position with no restriction. It's not a big deal, just mildly annoying since I've been attempting to make EVERYTHING on this car work like it's supposed to (within reason).

Also, another mild annoyance (hopefully it's just an annoyance). After the engine has cooled down, or in the morning as soon as the engine turns over there is a noise that sounds to be coming from under the hood on the drivers side that sounds almost like someone with a saxophone playing a whole note in D-flat. It lasts for about a second. It's weird, and I have not been able to identify what it is or what even to look for.

Thoughts and recommendations greatly appreciated.
