Car hesitates when I decellerate 900 1994

I recently bought a very clean 1994 960 with 108k miles. I called the local dealership and inquired about the service. The manager indicated that there should be a sticker on the cam shaft cover which would indicate that it has been changed. there is one there. My problem is when I am driving and I take my foot off the gas then reapply it the car hesitates as if it is not getting any gas. This goes on for few seconds but continues to happen whenever I decellerate. I found this site 2 weeks ago after I bought it and this site is a blessing. I have come to love Volvos. I have read on here about the EGR and Air mass unit. Any suggestions.
