Idle Adjustment & Normal Idle Range? 700 1989

It sounds like everything is working fine. If the car runs very well, and takes a while to warm up, (which is good), the ECU is getting a range of signals from both the O2 sensor and coolant temp sensor, so the flucuation will be greater until it stabilizes as you found out. You may want to fine-tune the idle setting after it is very hot on a day when you need the A/C.
Just keep driving the beast!
