760 turbo oil separator 700

I was trying to remove the oil separator on my '84 760 turbo to clean it yesterday and the base of it broke off flush with the block ( the part that goes into the rubber thing in the block). Should I try and pull the other piece out that is still on the block? There's a replacement oil separator on an '89 in the local salvage yard that I can buy.

Thanks,
Dave
