Fixing intermittent electrical problem(grounds) 700 1991

First of all, my 88 760 is probably not wired like your car, but if you are interested in checking your grounds, go to this link: http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=928611

This is a description of what I did to finally fix the intermittent problems with the 765 Turbo. There are pictures posted in the gallery. Go to the 700 series and scroll down about 7 pics. I have a whole string of stuff relating to this in there.

You will find that the Coolant Temp Sensor shares a common ground with the AMM, Ignition Amplifier, and a couple of other devices. My suggestion is to at least clean and solder all of the splices that you find in the harness as a minimum. Grounding each wire on both sides of the connectors and each sensor indivdually is prefered, depending on your electrical savvy.

Pulling the intake is easy and greatly simplifies the operation.

BTW: I have run the car trouble free for a couple of days now and even ventured twenty miles from home in it today without a mishap, which is a new record since ownership!

If I can be of any help you can email me details : will@willdallas.org

Regards,
