valve absorbers 200 1990

Have had noisy tappets for awhile ( I sometimes get asked how I like the diesel) I only had to reshim one valve #2 intake (tight .254mm) all others are .3-.45mm, SO I'm putting in valve absorbers. 190K and most of the engine rubber and plastic is cooked. Can I use engine oil, or chassis lube grease when I reinstall the tappets and cam or should I try and find some special cam installation lube? Would a local autozone or NAPA have this? Any watchout/gotcha's not in the FAQ or Haynes? I have also ordered timing belt/3 seal kit, cam plug, extra cam cover gasket.
