self- done tinting 900 1992

Guys,

I want to tint the 940. It's white sedan with great body and paint condition.
The a/c works great (I do the upkeep), but the tints will help the summer sun and as well look great.

The shops charge like 250$ CAN$. They also refuse to do anything darker than legal, I think sides are like 25%. I saw the tint, it's barely anything noticeable.

I want to do this myself. If I get a couple rolls of the stuff at the local parts place, undo the door panels, and proceed with a squeegy, spray bottle soap, cutter, etc... should I expect a decent job that will last a good few years?
If there are issues, does this stuff come off with an xacto scraper?

Any words of wisdom from those having done tints?

Let me know,
