lowering springs! 140-160 1967

Hi, I am interested in purchasing some sport springs for my 1968 142. The problem is IPD does not carry these items anymore, and Vintage Performance is too expensive for me at present. I have heard that springs out of a 160 series cut to the desired ride hide should do the trick in the front. Can springs out of a 240 wagon be installed in the rear? If anyone knows of alternative sources for proper sport springs for this car I would greatly appreciate it (I hope to lower the car 2" in the front and rear)
