Weird power steering problem? 200

I had the same thing happen to a '84 244. I put a half of a can of Justice Brothers transmission conditioner in it, started the engine, turned the wheels to the left and then back to the right. When I turned to the right the steering wheel was hard to turn for just a second and then popped loose. I drove that car for another 2 years before I sold it and it never had the problem again. All I can say is I think it had a valve sticking in the rack. It worked for me.

BTW! I had a '86 Chevy Celebrity do the same thing. I used the same stuff and never had any more problems.

I learned this little trick from an International Harvester service rep. when I worked on School Buses. The Ross steering gears on the Loadstar 1600 and 1700 series had that problem really bad.

Good luck,
Tony
