Hesitation during acceleration when car is cold..... 200 1987

Hi guys and gals,

I'm having a little acceleration problem. When cold, my '87 Volvo 240 really hesitates as a press the gas pedal....but will eventually "kick-in". As the car gets warmer, or is running for awhile this problem lessens to not happening at all.

I just had the fuel filter replaced and a tune-up. I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump starting to go??? It almost seems like there is not enough pressure in the system when cold?? Just a thought.

Can I easily check the pump or what do you all think is going on?

I appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks,

Chris
