122 Ignition Switch 120-130

Wow good call on Hi-Perf in Torrance. For those that don't know HI- Perf os not a speed shop rather it is the initials of the first names of the 2 brothers that run the place. When I first came back to South California I was loloking for a reputable shop. I am a bit anal and was unhappy that my car always came back with grease prints on the fenders. The work was excellent but it just bothered me. So being the nut that I am I found another independent. Unfortunatley after 10 years that owner had a heart attack and was never the same he passed 2 years after his battle with the complications that followed. Unfortunately the 2 mechs that workeed there could not come to friendlt terms to buy the shop and it was sold to another mech who doesn't work on anything older than 140's or some susch sort.

Hi--Perf had moved and I could not find them so I was home less for a time until i stumled on Ian one day at a local hardware store. Good thing cause I needed there service for a timing gear. Excellent work as usual.

As for the ignition switch. On mine the mechanism behind the tumbler as shown in a previous post) broke so I had to grind down the armoured cable to expose the wire. I got the temporary start kit from Ron Kwas (still waiting for that field coil :-)) and then went to my local independant Harley Shop and got an ignition swith for an old shovel head. Sooo. if you an't get a good working tumbler or if some time in the future the "bakelite" housing that mates with the tumbler goes kaput I would recommend the RK solution.

Glad you got your ride back.

patrick
