Carb question for SSTEF... 200

Did you ever find out what was causing this?

from http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=920957
"I am positive that my starting issues are from flooding. First, I get 18 mpg, so my carb is obviously shooting too much fuel for some reason. Second, if I disconnect my tubing hack for my absent warm start valve, the hose is always full of fuel."

Just wondering 'cause I'm experiencing the same thing, with the added bonus of panicky intersection stalls due to flooding when I release the gas pedal.

I've pulled the bowl off. The floats and valve seem to be in good condition but obviously are only intermittently regulating fuel flow. Any ideas?
