Just Installed new waterpump, rad. hoses and thermostat...Now she is overheating...HELP 200 1993

I just test drove the car and it is running really hot. There are no leaks anywhere that I can see, so I am not losing coolant. The water pump is flaming hot, but it isn't leaking or squealing at all. The radiator hoses are fine and not leaking either. The thermostat is a ScanTec 92 degree one that the previous owner gave me. It was in it's original packaging before I installed it, however I don't know about its age. I have heard that Scantec items are often of questionable quality. The return radiator hose on top didn't feel too hot to me when I shut off the car, so I kindof suspect that there is a problem with the thermosat. Could the thermostat be faulty? Is there something wrong with the water pump possibly? Let me know what you all think. When it cools down, I am going to put the old thermostat back in to test my theory.
