Finally installed keyless entry. 700 1991

Wife gets Christmas present installed three months after Christmas!

I had a fellow Brickboarder pull all the linkage off a right front and left rear door on a 740 he was parting. Turns out, I only needed the lock motor off the left rear door. The Volvo lock motor fits right in place of where the switch was. I found all the wires I needed for the remote unlocker behind the driver's outside kick panel. Our '91 was wired for door speakers but they were never installed so rather than make a mess running new wires through the door, I just spliced the door speaker wires into the lock circuit behind the kick panel and spliced them into the lock motor inside the door. I found the switch wiring behing the kick panel and spliced that as well.

Doh! I just realized, I should have used the SWITCH wiring to power the motor and I could have left the speaker wiring alone. Oh well.

Not too hard of an installation. It took me about 4 hours but I wasn't in a hurry and it took me a while to figure out which wire did what. I did have to pull the entire door latch assembly out to put on the lock motor. The wife is very happy to have this feature and for $40 it's a nice upgrade!
