Indeed I've found it next to impossible to find a reliable tire shop around here. Very disappointing. Setting/checking the toe is easy, setting/checking camber and caster.. not so much. Balancing the wheels.. not possible to do a good job without specialized equipment.

It's extremely frustrating because some of these shops are SO bad that you can dismiss them before even spending money. "Yes, you need a four wheel alignment on your Volvo 760 wagon. Yes we just adjust the rear axles to adjust the rear alignment." (Dependable Brake & Tire in San Rafael, California). I really had to bite my tongue in that case.
