removing aftermarket alarm? help? 700 1988

So my '91 740 wagon came with an aftermarket alarm system installed, but I never received any remotes, and I'd like to tear the whole thing out.

My question: Is this going to be as simple as disconnecting a few multi-pin connectors, or are these things usually spliced into the existing car wiring? I do know that when this alarm goes off, the starter is disabled, and the parking lights flash, so there must be some connections there, just hoping it's not a mess.

thanks,
Michael
