craigslist.com has had quite a few good things on it lately, I don't know if they cover your area though, might as well have a look see. And on ebay like John said, be careful... The car I'm in the process of getting now was purchased by people on ebay that didn't realy know what they were getting their hands into for something like $580, and now I'm going to be taking it off of their hands for something more along the lines of $50 and lots of time(hours, gas money) on both sides wasted...
